Dundee Women’s Festival is back with a two-week-long programme of events on this year’s theme; Women Emerging Stronger.

With events featuring everything from line dancing to empowering talks, film to strike action, this year’s Dundee Women’s Festival builds on the celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women recognised annually on International Women’s Day on 8 March.

Running from Saturday 4 until Sunday 19 March, the Festival is back stronger than ever with a wider range of events and workshops hoping to renew networks and friendships, spread knowledge, build skills and celebrate the achievements and legacy of women across the city.

Here is a small taste of what’s on offer throughout March!

• Explore the ‘hidden half’ of fan culture with NEoN and a showing of the film Geek Girls by Gina Hara. Saturday 4 March, Unit 35 at the Keiller Centre.
• On International Women’s Day, Wednesday 8 March, join DCA for a screening of 3000 Nights – a ‘poetic and raw’ fiction feature debut from Palestinian filmmaker Mai Masri exploring the central role women play under occupation.
• Join Family Fun with Women in STEM for a hands-on science event on Saturday 11 March at ScrapAntics in the Wellgate and meet local inspiring scientists from the University of Dundee.
• Head down to Dundee International Women’s Centre on Saturday 18 March for The World Meets in Stobswell (Culture & Food). Taste authentic food and learn about the cultures of the many countries represented by the centre’s members.
