Join UNESCO City of Design Dundee and book out your calendar with a fantastic array of events for Dundee Month of Design.
With all the design activity across May collected into one handy spot, the Dundee Month of Design programme showcases everything from product design to illustration; fashion to service design; and all the brilliant people who make design in Dundee special.
This Dundee Month of Design is also a welcome celebration of gathering together again to attend events, exhibition, talks, tours, markets, films and workshops after a difficult few years. Pick up a printed programme from Dundee Design House, or browse the list online, and enjoy what the city has to offer!
Amongst the many highlights, the month includes:
- Design in Fashion: All month, Mon-Sat
Head to Dock Street Studios for a month-long pop up celebrating design in fashion where you’ll find lounge wear, dazzling dance floor dresses, festival frocks and more.
- D is for Design: Tue 9 May–Wed 31 May
Celebrate five years of design studio Agency of None with a special exhibition of prints and products at Gallery 48.
- Co-Design Coffee Shop: Thu 11 & 18 May
Join the Design Service Academy for drop-in sessions aimed at community groups, charities and small businesses at Gardyne Campus, Dundee and Angus College.
- Musical Chairs Workshop: Sat 20 May
Join community musician and composer Claire Gorman to create a collaborative sound piece inspired by the shapes, colours, textures and stories of the University of Dundee’s collection of 19th and 20th century chairs.
- Pin or Pendant Workshop: Thu 25 May
Design and make a your own unique piece of silver jewellery with Ieva Jankovska at Double Door Studios.
