Sat 29 Apr–Sat 6 May 2023 at GENERATORprojects
Masters students from DJCAD are coming together at GENERATORprojects for the first collective exhibition of their work, marking the mid-way point in their MFA programme. Mind the Gap will showcase a selection of work from twenty-one artists – taught by the late Delia Baillie – across a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting, textiles and moving image
Work on display includes megalithic geological drawings by award-winning artist Calum Wallis, completed on a residency on the Isle of Eigg, as well as the textiles and photographs of Maella Wallace, recently selected for the RSA New Contemporaries. Music, movement, and dancing runs as a theme between several artists’ work, including Wasps award winner Susie Dalton’s explorations in recording dance through data, and Scott Duncan’s reinterpretation of the poetry of William Blake via 1980s Chicago acid house music.
The exhibition runs at GENERATORprojects from Sat 29 Apr to Sat 6 May. Join the opening event, featuring performances by artists Pascal Miehle, Scott Duncan, and artist and DJ Mark Wallace, from 6–9pm on Fri 28 Apr.
A variety of workshops and events will also be held over the course of the exhibition with details to be shared on Instagram and GENERATORprojects website.
