Open for applications! Five funded residencies for language and word focused creative practitioners at Arbroath’s The New Scriptorium.
The New Scriptorium, an artist designed and built structure in the historical grounds of Arbroath Abbey, are delighted to announce five funded residencies for 2024. The residencies, created with partners Hospitalfield, Historic Environment Scotland, Scottish Poetry Library, and Lakes International Comic Art Festival, will run between May and August 2024 for practitioners with a focus on language and word.
The theme for the series of residencies is ‘Power and Word’ with practitioners invited to use the opportunity for the time and space to develop an idea, or explore prompts based on Arbroath itself. The residencies will be publicly engaged with some involvement with the local community expected, and ‘gifts’ to the town to be developed throughout each residency taking any form from physical publication to workshop or live event.
Applications for the residencies close at 6pm, Monday 4 March.
