- Volk Gallery are back from Sat 4 May with a new exhibition from Dundee-based artist Jo Hanning inspired by Fuzzy Felt and the sketchbook as a location for experimentation and play.
- Do you or would you like to run your own art and craft workshops? What would make sharing your skills easier? The team behind Everybody’s Art Cart would love your input to help them continue developing their project!
Events
- Pop across the Tay for Open Studios North Fife from Sat 4–Mon 6 May with an incredible array of artists opening the doors to their studios to share their work and their space.
- The Abertay Digital Graduate Show is back from Thu 16–Sat 18 May with over 140 projects on display and lots of opportunities to play and explore everything from character design to virtual reality.
- Join Uppertunity from Wed 22–Sun 26 May for Confetti, an inclusive arts festival celebrating the talent and creativity of their community with exhibitions, events and performances.
- Micro-funding event Dundee SOUP is back with the Changemakers Hub! For a donation of £5, join them on Thu 23 May to enjoy some soup and hear presentations of creative ideas to benefit the community.

- Join Cricket McCann for monthly Zine Club, a fun and creative gathering to collaborate and create! Head to Discovery Point on Sat 4 May, and ScrapAntics on Thu 23 May.
- Get your camera ready to join local photographer Ben Douglas for the next UNESCO City of Design Dundee Photo Walk on Sun 5 May, heading from Dawson Park to Broughty Castle.
- The National Film & Television School is coming to Dundee! Join them at DCA on Wed 15 May for a day of talks and workshops exploring creative careers behind the camera in film and TV.
- Head to Hapworks_00 on Thu 30 May for Mastering the Art of Networking with Business Gateway to explore tried and tested strategies to help you build networking and speaking skills.
Opportunities
- Applications are now open for Craft Scotland’s prestigious Inches Carr Craft Bursaries which include awards of up to £2,000 for Emerging Makers and £5,000 for Established Makers. Applications close 5pm, Tue 7 May.
- The Transition Dundee team are hiring for two new roles supported by the Dundee Climate Fund. Applications for both Project Coordinator and Youth Work Coordinator close midday, Mon 13 May.
- The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival returns in October and they’re looking to support more events in Dundee. Apply for their new small grants scheme before 2pm, Tue 21 May to develop a local event for the festival.
- Youth Theatre Arts Scotland are recruiting a freelancer to support the development and delivery of Next Generation, a new YTAS programme for early career youth theatre practitioners. Apply for the role of Next Gen Coordinator before 5pm, Mon 13 May.
Exhibitions
- Discover the dynamic, ever-evolving icon of fashion at V&A Dundee’s latest exhibition, Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk. Opening Sat 4 May.
- Celebrate ten years of Dundee’s UNESCO City of Design status with A Decade of Design showcasing an array of design work from DJCAD alumni across comics, illustration, jewellery, textiles and more. Exhibition opens Sat 4 May.
- It’s time to celebrate this year’s graduates as the DJCAD Undergraduate Degree Show returns for 2024! Visit the show from Sat 25 May–Sun 2 June.
- Now open at DCA; Turn Me Into A Flower, the first UK solo exhibition from multi-disciplinary artist Sukaina Kubba, features existing work alongside new commissions created during a month-long production residency in DCA Print Studio.
