Take One Action work to bring communities together to harness the transformative potential of film and storytelling for collective change, and their next series of events brings them to Dundee.
Curated by artist and Film Hub Scotland New Producer Saoirse Amira Anis, Music & Resistance: Here, There, Everywhere is a trio of events exploring the different ways in which music and movement play pivotal roles in resistance struggles – personally, locally, globally, and universally.
Join them to explore Afrofuturism and the ecological impacts of technology, club culture and the changing landscape of governmental oppression in the 1980s, and the respite and nourishment found in community, with films from Turner Prize-winner Jeremy Deller, Anisia Uzeyman and Saul Williams, and more.
To make events more accessible, Take One Action operate a sliding scale ticket policy with options from £0 to £10. When paying a higher price for a ticket, attendees help subsidise a ticket for somebody on a lower income.
A screening of Neptune Frost by Anisia Uzeyman and Saul Williams, an Afrofuturist speculative fantasy musical about resistance and community.
