Wed 20–Sun 24 November
For around 40 years, Dundee Jazz Festival has been providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the city’s venues for jazz fans and the jazz-curious to enjoy the best of jazz in all its varieties. Returning this year from Wed 20 – Sun 24 November, the festival provides the chance to hear fabulous local, national, and international talent in the heart of the city.
This year’s exciting lineup features artists working across the world of jazz, but has a special focus on female vocalists including much-decorated singer Jacqui Dankworth MBE, Scottish rising star kitti and local favourites The Vintage Girls, and SAY longlisted spoken word artist Bee Asha.
The city’s history is the subject of a lecture and performance by US-based musician and scholar Ruth Naomi Floyd, spotlighting the work of the prominent African American writer and abolitionist, Frederick Douglass, and his connections to Dundee.
