Inspired by listening practices happening elsewhere, Dundee Radio Club is a pilot project for sonic attunement in Dundee – an active community radio station and space for listening together, sharing sounds and opening ears in early 2025.
Dundee Radio Club was first shared as an Amps Community Ideas Fund pitch in April 2024, selected by the network to come to life – now, they need you to help them amplify audio adventures! They’re inviting submissions for their first digital broadcast, taking the form of a 48-hour listening festival between Fri 7 and Sun 9 February 2025. Audio-works can be pre-existing, or prepared for festival broadcast, and the invitation is broad – you might put forward sonic artworks, podcast-type conversations, interviews, music sessions, storytelling, dj-mixes, radio-plays and more.
This opportunity is open to: anyone working and thinking with sound, from or within Dundee and surrounds.
Deadline for submissions: Mon 30 December 2024, 23:59
All sounds will be listened to in advance of scheduling, and DDRC will be in touch with all applicants by Mon 20 January 2025.
This new collaboration was made possible through our Amps network’s Community Ideas Fund. Everyone in the network can choose which project they’d like to award the fund to at our annual Amps Forum – find out about the other amazing projects that pitched in 2024. This cash award is funded by Amps subscriptions each year – join Amps and help us make the fund bigger and better!
