Open Call: Lead Artist(s) Queering the Clachan at Forgan Arts Centre

An exciting opportunity for a creative practitioner to lead a bold new project at Forgan Arts Centre.


Forgan Arts Centre are currently recruiting a Lead Artist(s) for a new project titled Queering the Clachan. This position is suitable for someone with a strong interest in LGBTQIA+ advocacy and community engagement through creativity.

Queering the Clachan aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ people in North East Fife through creativity, collectivity, and building allyship across rural communities. This project is for LGBTQIA+ people and their friends, family, neighbours, and the broader community. A bold and ambitious project, Queering the Clachan requires confident leadership from an experienced artist.

Forgan Arts Centre are hosting an online Q&A session for interested applicants on Mon 10 and Tue 25 February.


Forgan Arts Centre is a rural home for the development of traditional and contemporary art and craft and community activity in Newport-on-Tay, North East Fife. The centre was established by local-residents in 1974 and they remain community-led to this day, with representation from local people at all levels of the organisation.
