- Enjoy zines galore at Dundee Zine Fest, taking place at Art Angel on Sat 14 March, with zinesters from the city and beyond sharing all sorts of comix, printmaking, storytelling, illustration, collage, small press and photography.
- Take a wander through the Wellgate to say hello to POD! gallery – a new community micro-gallery offering free exhibition space for underrepresented artists and community groups to showcase their creative work. They’re super keen to hear from folks who might be interested in exhibiting – get in touch if that’s you!
- After almost three years of events, Hubworld Scotland are hosting a final Dundee Games Meet-Up, open to anyone and everyone in the games industry! Join them for a celebratory last event on Fri 6 March.
- Dundee Month of Design returns in May! If you’ve got a design-related event planned for the month, submit your events before Sun 22 March to be part of UNESCO City of Design Dundee’s 2026 printed guide.
Events
- Join Dundee Changemakers Hub for the Big Blether on Thu 5 March! A showcase of brilliant changemaking work happening in the city, and a chance to dive into spring with a view to the future.
- KerrieALDO will be popping up at Kist on Sat 7 March with a brand new and limited edition collection of coats and accessories, alongside favourite styles to browse and buy!
- A new single, an almost-new album, and a gig to celebrate. See Dundee’s own Andrew Wasylyk at Marryat Hall on Sat 7 March, with support from Kathryn Joseph.
- New to Dundee or looking to connect with more people? Cake or Dice are running free Board Game socials each week on Wed, Thu and Fri evenings with space to try out new games and make some new friends.
Workshops
- Join Arts Workers for Palestine Dundee on Mon 16 March for their next Palestine Reading Circle, a peer-led study group exploring Palestinian stories, poetry, histories, film and more.
- Want to try ceramics but unsure whether Wheel Throwing or Hand Building is for you? Join Dundee Ceramics Workshop from Wed 18 March for a six week Intro to Ceramics course and get to grips with all the basics.
- Join Cooper Gallery for Weird Economies x Scotland, a series of public events inspired by current exhibition ‘The Debtor’s Portal’ – including a workshop exploring funding models for radical forms of artistic engagement on Thu 26 March.
- Learn the art of Lego printing with DCA at their next Sip and Print event on Thu 26 March, making bold and graphic floral prints to welcome in spring. No previous experience necessary!
Opportunities
- Emerging artists can apply for the Henderson-Inglis Bursary at the Pittenweem Arts Festival until Fri 13 March. The bursary provides £750 alongside accommodation and exhibition space for the duration of the festival in August.
- Shaper/Caper are searching for a Technical Manager to join their team in a newly created role focused on the day-to-day technical delivery of their theatre-in-schools touring programme. Applications close Thu 12 March.
- Hot Chocolate Trust are looking for two part-time youth music workers, who will support young people to experiment, play, and develop their confidence in music. Find out more and apply by noon on Mon 16 March.
- Apply for a funded artist residency at Forgan Arts Centre responding to the theme of Ecologies of Migration. They are explicitly inviting proposals from artists who have a refugee background or have experienced forcible displacement. Applications close 12noon, Mon 6 April.
Exhibitions
- V&A Dundee are celebrating 30 years of Maggie’s and the power of inspiring spaces with a new exhibition exploring the organisation’s groundbreaking approach to design. ‘Maggie’s: Architecture that Cares‘ opens Fri 6 March.
- Visit Nomas* Projects until Thu 12 March for ‘Merry Go Round‘ from artist Louise Schmid exploring the culture of childhood and how Japan’s toys, gadgets and fantasy worlds have shaped the world. Discover more about the work at an online Artist Talk on Sun 8 March.
- Head to The Green Gallery at Dundee Botanic Gardens until Fri 13 March for ‘What Lies Beneath: Revealing Hidden Landscapes‘, a new exhibition of aerial photography by Richard Cross uncovering how Scotland’s landscapes are shaped by human activity.
- Pop over to University of Dundee’s Dalhousie Building for ‘Layers of Detail‘, a new collaborative exhibition with Comics Youth SCIO exploring the university’s extensive collection of comics art. Running until Fri 1 May.
Content
- Watch all the talks from Culture for Climate Scotland’s SPRINGBOARD 2025, exploring how society needs to reimagine itself in the face of climate change, and the role Scotland’s arts and culture sector can take in this transformation.
- Scottish Dance Theatre are celebrating their 40th anniversary and want to hear your memories to help capture a living history of their work. Whether you’ve been an audience member, volunteer, dancer, musician, participant, or supporter you can send in your stories and photos before Sun 15 March.
- Abertay University’s GAME-ER project is looking to understand missed opportunities for collaboration between games and other creative industry fields.
