The Big Print Project is an exciting project, part of Print Festival Scotland/Impact 8, a national print conference being held in Dundee at the end of August. The Big Print brings together anyone and everyone – professional printmakers, local schools, community groups, students and you and I, to create a giant artwork, inspired by Dundee’s history, culture, people and architecture. Get involved over the next few weekends and help bring this giant print to life!
On Saturday 31st August, the massive linocuts will be printed on to paper by the Big Print Roadroller – yes, a steam roller! This will happen outside DJCAD art college and is going to be one of those things which shouldn’t to be missed.
However… To be ready for the giant print day, the team need all hands on the lino deck. Please join the Big Print Team to help at one of their lino cutting sessions, over the next few weekends.
You don’t need to be a lino cutting expert or think you have to ‘be’ creative to get involved. Lino cutting is one of those which is easy to pick up, you can relax, get stuck in and quickly see the progress you are making. It’s particularly satisfying and pretty addictive too – once you cut, you can’t stop!
So please join the team at the McManus over the next few weekends – all tools and refreshments provided.
