Barry Robertson is a signwriter and signmaker creating lettering, graphics and logos for businesses and organisations. His piece features a mash-up of the different techniques he uses when creating signs—including hand lettering, gold leaf guiding, computer aided design and vinyl—to depict our collective firing of Amps energy into the universe every Tuesday morning.
“Attending Amps Breakfast meetings is a positive experience. With the city’s creative talent sharing and discussing diverse aspects of life. The reverse glass piece merges traditional signwriting and gold leaf gilding with computer aided design and modern signmaking methods. Expressing the Zoom meetings as a machine for collective good, in this life and the next.”
To mark the two year milestone of meeting online each week since March 2020, we asked some Amps to create a piece of work that both reflects their practice and celebrates building community, forming connections, and the joy of Amps Breakfast!
This blog is one of several celebrating Two Years of Virtual Amps Breakfasts. Breakfast is a weekly opportunity that brings together supporters of Creative Dundee’s Amps network to chat and connect. New faces are always welcome—join Amps and come along!
