Open call! Applications for the Dundee Musicians’ Award 2022/23 are open!

Running since 2008, the Dundee Musicians’ Award supports the work of outstanding Dundee-based musicians by awarding grants towards the costs involved in creating new work in any genre, research and professional development. Applicants can apply for up to £600.

Previously supported projects include but are not limited to;

• Short-term or one-off training courses 
• Workshops 
• Conference fees 
• Master-classes 
• Mentoring 
• Experiences which lead to improved professional skills 
• Travel to experience work 
• Working with new partners or producers to create new works
• Establishing contacts and partnerships 
• Exploring opportunities for future projects

The awards support projects that look at creative development through collaborations, working with new partners, or new producers. Past winners include: The Hazey Janes, Eilidh Morris of 2 Stoned Birds, Su Shaw of SHHE, Lynne Campbell, Callum Mackie, St Martiins and many more.

Make sure to fully read the guidelines before applying; successful awardees will have demonstrated a level of commitment to their work as a musician and will be considered on the following criteria:

• Quality of the musician’s work
• Expected impact of support on the applicant’s professional and creative development
• Clarity of purpose behind the submission and reasons given for applying for an award
• Quality of the information/material supplied
• Level of commitment shown to their career

The Dundee Musicians’ Award is staged by Leisure and Culture Dundee.

The closing date for applications is Fri 23 December 2022.
