- Join University of Dundee Museums on Thu 6 July for a fascinating illustrated talk exploring the Life and Work of Abram Games, one of the most celebrated graphic designers of the 20th century.
- Visit the MAXwell Garden to Pick Your Own Harvest Box on Mon 17 and 31 July and enjoy some treats fresh from the garden. Booking required via email to secure your space.
- Head to The Steeple and have a browse at The Yard Dundee market on Sat 29 July or book a place for your own stall at upcoming monthly events.
- Join V&A Dundee and Tea Green Events for their second annual Summer Design Market, Fri 28–Sun 30 July, featuring an amazing array of independent Scottish designers.
Workshops
- Try your hand at wood engraving for print with expert engraver Beth Robertson on this one-day introductory course at DCA Print Studio on Sat 8 July.
- On Wed 12 July, join Creative Carbon Scotland for their Green Arts Charter online workshop to provide feedback on their work and develop the process for moving forward with the Green Arts Initiative.
- The Scottish Government are running a Climate Change Workshop on Wed 19 July for Dundee locals to feed into and shape Scottish climate change policies and plans. Register your interest for the workshop before Wed 12 July.
- Get hands on and create with Dundee Ceramics workshop at their upcoming Handbuilding Jugs, Pitchers and Carafes workshop on Sat 29 July.
Opportunities
- Craft Scotland are hiring a freelance Teacher Liason for MAKE with the Knit Shop, a new Dundee-based project aiming to equip primary teachers with the skills to deliver arts-based teaching. Applications close midnight, Wed 12 July.
- Apply to join the pilot programme for Made Possible – a new initiative developed by Creative United and Creative Scotland to help make buying original art from independent makers more affordable. Applications close midnight, Mon 17 July.
- The Circle have teamed up with Just Enterprise to offer free business support to charities and social enterprises in Dundee. Find out more and register to receive free support on business planning, budgeting, marketing and more.
- Engage Scotland are currently seeking participants for a co-design event to help develop a Scotland-specific EDI approach for the visual arts sector. Event date to be confirmed and participants will be paid for their time.
Exhibitions
- GENERATORprojects welcome artist Elinor O’Donovan for her new film and exhibition, The Immeasurable Grief of the Prawn. Join them for the preview on Fri 7 July.
- Visit the Wasps Project Space on Fri 7 July and Sat 8 July for The Green Line, an exhibition of work in progress by artist Kirsty McKeown.
- Agency of None bring a fresh look at Dundee’s identity through graphic design in D is for Design, showing at Gallery48 until Sun 16 July.
- Head to the Tower Foyer Gallery for Still Moving, a fascinating exhibition exploring how artists and scientists have sought to capture and interpret motion. Now open until Sat 30 Sept.

- Forgan Arts Centre is working with social research partner TIALT on a survey to help them plan for future activities at the centre including a number of upcoming in-person engagement events. Complete the survey and offer your feedback by Fri 4 Aug.
