- Creative access specialist and composer and musician Sorcha Pringle is hosting online training on how to make workshops and social media more accessible to blind and visually impaired people. Choose from Mon 22 or Fri 26 January.
- Artist Monica Madas shares a new exhibition of work this month, exploring how the mundane and the creative become intrinsically linked through social, cultural and emotional connections. Geometry of Belonging opens with live music at Blend Dock Street on Fri 26 January.
- Award-winning local dance company Shaper/Caper are looking for a new Producer to support, develop and produce their touring programme. Apply for the job by Wed 7 February.
- Agency of None are creating the Open House Network Thing – a digital space for designers and those interested in design around Dundee to come together and support each other. Drop them a message if you’d like to join!
Events
- Icebreaker Comedy are starting their year with a new material night, featuring Dundee’s Chelsea Young alongside a line-up of folks testing out fresh lol-prompts – join them at Roots (formally Conroy’s Basement), Thu 18 January.
- Arts Workers for Palestine Dundee continue their film screenings for Palestine, offering a space to gather together in the spirit of solidarity and learning. Join them at GENERATORprojects on Tue 23 January for In Vitro by Larissa Sansour.
- Join Neuk Collective online on Sun 28 January for their next ND Artist Meetup – a chilled monthly space for neurodivergent artists to meet and share.
- Dundee’s culture and creative community are invited to visit Spectra Aberdeen, Scotland’s Festival of Light! Register to join the study trip on Thu 8 February and learn more about the work that goes into this fantastic event.
Workshops
- Join Creative Carbon Scotland on Wed 24 January for online workshop Starting Point: An Introduction to Climate Action for Artists and Cultural Organisations and learn how to start your sustainability journey in your work and with your community.
- Kick-start your crafting with Dundee Ceramics Workshop’s Intro to Ceramics and get to grips with wheel throwing and hand building techniques! Book your place to start on Wed 24 January.
- Join Nine Angels for their next Jewellery Making Workshop on Fri 26 January and create your very own pieces of wearable art with jesmonite and clay!
- Pop over to Forgan Arts Centre and pick-up a new skill in 2024 with their amazing array of classes and workshops including stained glass, pottery, upholstery, painting and drawing, suitable for all ages and abilities.

- Queer Words Project Scotland are searching for 5 emerging queer writers to be mentored by some of the best and brightest writing talent in Scotland! Applications are open to writers of poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction until Wed 14 February.
- Calling all newly qualified architects and architecture students! The Dundee Institute of Architecture have launched the next Young Architects and Designers Competition. Submit your proposal for the future development of the Keiller Centre before Mon 26 February.
Exhibitions
- Opening at Cooper Gallery on Fri 26 January, new group exhibition, The Scale of Things, brings together three moving image works from artists Grace Ndiritu, Saodat Ismailova, and Margaret Tait.
- Art Angel take to GENERATORprojects for a new exhibition celebrating the work and creativity of participants from across their art groups. Visit the exhibition before it closes on Fri 2 February.
- Award-winning moving image artist Michelle Williams Gamaker explores race, representation, identity and agency in solo exhibition Our Mountains Are Painted On Glass at DCA until Sun 24 March.
- Explore some of the latest additions to the University of Dundee Museum Collections, including artwork from DJCAD graduating students, in the Recent Acquisitions exhibition running at Tower Foyer Gallery until Mon 1 April.
