- Fancy a dance? Join Shaper/Caper’s Community Company! Fortnightly and free to join, for LGBTQ+ folks and allies to have a blether and a boogie – no experience required.
- Drawing on their research into queer ecology and the Gaelic concept of Dùthchas, AJ Stockwell presents of sound body, an exhibition of new work made during a year-long studio fellowship at DJCAD. Exibition open Fri 13–Sat 21 February – see a preview on Thu 12 February, 5–6pm and a closing performance on Thu 19 February, 6–7pm.
- A new month brings a new Blether! A nicht o Scots poetry, music and mair, featuring Fife-based writer Rebecca Sharp and Edzell performer Belle Rana. Fri 6 February, 6pm, at the Steps Theatre at Central Library (please note change of time/venue!)
- Fri 6 February sees the opening of We Contain Multitudes, a major new exhibition at DCA bringing together four artists (Andrew Gannon, Nnena Kalu, Daisy Lafarge and Jo Longhurst) whose work is shaped by the body, its gestures, limits, and lived realities.

- Waterstones Dundee’s Children’s Book Festival is celebrating the joy of reading through talks and workshops with beloved authors and stories, including locals Cara Rooney and the Beano! Sat 6 and Sun 7 February, full event and ticket info.
- Scottish Dance Theatre are celebrating 40 years of transformative dance experiences, and they’ve just launched a special programme to celebrate between March and October. Happy birthday, SDT!
- It’s good to be a guinea pig – join the audience for Icebreaker Dundee’s New Material Night, with a carefully crafted comedy line-up at Archies on Thu 5 February.
- Join a monthly peer-led study group exploring history, stories, poetry, posters, films and music from Palestine, hosted by Art Workers for Palestine Dundee, starting Mon 16 February.

- A call out for first look performance for Rep Stripped! This is Dundee Rep’s platform for fresh work, new voices and bold ideas, and this year invites dance works for the first time. Apply by Mon 16 February, more info and key dates online.
- We Are Here Scotland’s Creators Fund+ returns, offering a 12-month programme of support for Black and Global Majority creatives and cultural profession in Scotland to build sustainable careers on their own terms. Deadline is Wed 25 February.
- Not long left to apply for Spectra, Neuk Collective’s paid year-long leadership and creative development programme for neurodivergent artists and creatives in Scotland. Apply by Fri 6 February.
- Arbroath 2020+ and TRACS invite applications for their Untold Stories residency, in partnership with Hospitalfield. Open to those working within the traditional arts (e.g. storytelling, music, song, craft), including a fee, accommodation and workspace for two weeks. Apply by Mon 23 February.
Exhibitions
- A new year brings a new Generator Projects Members’ Show, open until Sun 1 March, and featuring a plethora of works from artists across the city. Don’t miss a Performance Night on Fri 13 February.
- Celebrating the creative power of costume designers from and inspired by Dundee, Curtain Call: Costumes from Stage and Screen opens at the McManus on Sat 7 February.
- Opening at Cooper Gallery on Fri 13 February, a solo exhibition by writer and filmmaker Bahar Noorizadeh, co-curated with The Otolith Collective. The Debtor’s Portal places histories of economics, cybernetic socialism and activist strategies under scrutiny, asking what forms of redistributive historical justice might be possible in the present.
- Last chance to see DJCAD’s 2025/26 MFA Fine Art cohort’s latest exhibition, Intersections, exploring the ways that we relate and overlap despite our diverse backgrounds and cultures. Open 8am–9pm, closing Thu 5 February.
