Find space to access creative tools, materials and tuition to make work. Run by experienced local makers, lots of these spaces offer hands-on workshops to learn new skills as well as bookable access to experiment and develop your own work. 

Creative Studios Dundee

A community organisation offering affordable private and shared studio space, event space and retail opportunities, as well as knitting machine hire. The local businesses working from the studios also offer regular workshops and events.  @creative_studios_dundee

DCA Print Studio

Based in Dundee Contemporary Arts, the Print Studio has a range of state-of-the-art facilities to create print, photography and digital work. Anyone can become a registered Print Studio user, providing open access to the space via bookable sessions. The Print Studio also runs an extensive programme of workshops and events throughout the year for anyone to join. @dcadundee

Double Door Studios

A small creative enterprise focused on practices that explore jewellery, design and making. Their space comprises a fully equipped shared jewellery making space, private studio spaces, and a small but flexible exhibition space which can be hired for product launches, pop-ups and more. They regularly run events and workshops suitable for anyone who’d like to try their hand at jewellery making. @doubledoorstudios

Dundee Ceramics Workshop

A ceramics studio based at Wasps Meadow Mill, offering a range of facilities including classes, talks, markets and workshops. Their volunteer committee and small staff team deliver their programme to total beginners, practising ceramics artists, and everyone in between. They offer a variety of memberships that provide access to their workshop and more. @dundeeceramicsworkshop

Dundee Orangery Studio

Join jewellery designer KT New at her studio based in an orangery and be inspired by the textures, shapes and plant forms around you while you learn to make your own pieces of jewellery. Book a workshop to make your own contemporary earrings, rings and pendants, learning techniques such as embossing and enamelling as you go. @ktnewjewellery 

ScrapStore & ArtAntics

Based at Meadow Mill, ScrapAntics’ ScrapStore offers a constantly evolving stock of recycled materials and is an invaluable resource for artists, students, schools, small businesses and more. The ScrapStore is open to the public Tue–Thu and Sat for donations and purchases. @Scrapstore_Dundee

Next door to the ScrapStore, ArtAntics provides affordable artist studio spaces that are home to a group of artists working in a range of different media and disciplines. ArtAntics is not open to the public unless prearranged or booked for a specific event.

Wasps Meadow Mill

A former jute mill, Wasps Meadow Mill features fifty-eight artists studios across three floors, housing up to one hundred artists. The resident artists, designers and makers regularly host open studio events, exhibitions and workshops. @waspsdundee

The Weaving Shed

A unique event and wedding venue in a former factory, the Weaving Shed also offers two substantial photography studios for hire. Rates start at four hour hires and rental includes use of industry standard lights, stands and light shaping tools. @the_weaving_shed_
