Remembering Together will commission creative practitioners in all 32 local authority areas in Scotland to co-create with communities, exploring who, what and how we want to remember and honour all those affected by Covid, and offering a place to connect, to reflect and to create.
UNESCO City of Design Dundee are looking for Dundee-based designers/creative practitioners with experience of co-creating and participatory practice to work with local groups and communities to co-design a Covid community memorial as part of the Remembering Together programme for Dundee.
This opportunity is for phase 1 of the project, which will take place in Dundee between April and September 2022. Together with local communities, the selected designer(s)/creative practitioner(s) will devise a programme of engagement activities to explore and shape ideas for a creative memorial that reflects local people’s experiences of the pandemic. These co-designed concepts and ideas will inform the creative output to be developed during phase 2.
Creative practitioners specialising across broad disciplines (such as dance, theatre, craft, film, digital art, literature, music and more) are all welcome to apply, but they must be Dundee-based and able to demonstrate their ability to use co-design as an approach to working collaboratively with diverse communities.
The selected designer(s)/creative practitioner(s) for phase 1 will be supported with a £15,000 commission to cover fees and working with local communities. Collaborative applications are welcome for phase 1, but the allocated £15,000 budget must be split amongst the team. There will also be exciting opportunities for the selected designer(s)/creative practitioner(s) to join a national online learning programme devised by greenspace scotland.
