Dandelion Free for All

4th June, 1:00pm at City Square

Get sowing and growing at home with the help of free plants and advice from Dandelion at their Dundee Free for All.

All across Scotland this summer, Dandelion—a national creative celebration of growing, music and community—are hosting Free for All celebrations, giving away thousands of free plant plugs to anyone who fancies having a grow.

Free for Alls are Dandelion’s mini-festivals of growing, touring between May and July, and they’ll be stopping off in Dundee on Sat 4 June. Drop-in for free and enjoy performances, get advice on how to get started and take home some free plants!

They’ll give you everything you need to get growing in seed beds and plant pots, gardens and window boxes: wherever you can and however you like. Novice growers are especially welcome, and can chat to their friendly Growing Team from Scotland’s Rural College. Also joining the event will be Dandelion’s Flower Singer—a five-metre-tall spectacle that’s not to be missed.

Dandelion is a national creative celebration of growing, music and community taking place across Scotland. Local partners have come together to bring the project to the city, including the University of Dundee, Creative Dundee, Dundee City Council and community group, Friends of Fairmuir. Dundee’s Unexpected Garden, Fair Growing Green, will bring new life and fresh produce to the former bowling green in the popular Fairmuir Park over summer 2022.

Dandelion is commissioned by EventScotland and funded by the Scottish Government, and is Scotland’s contribution to UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK.
