Join Shaper/Caper on Fri 18 – Sat 19 November for Creatiful; a free events and networking festival programme designed by and for young people to promote mental health and wellbeing through connection and creativity.
Organised by their Youth Advisory Board, Creatiful invites young people and families to come along and get involved in some free events and workshops hosted by brilliant local artists. There’s a young artists networking event, plus a full day of fun arts workshops and performances for all ages and abilities! It’s all about trying new things and opening up the arts to all.
Here’s what they’ve got on offer:
A relaxed creative networking event for young artists of all kinds, with refreshments, the chance to ask questions to the Youth Advisory Board and an opportunity to learn how to repurpose your clothing in a workshop with young creative, Harper McBride.
All who identify as young or emerging artists welcome!
Catch two pre-recorded performances of the 2000+ year old Indian dance form of Bharathanatyam, kindly shared by a group of dancers from India.

An interactive dance performance workshop the whole family can get involved in!
Aimed at ages 3-8.
A movement and art workshop using imagination and our senses to explore our landscapes to open up conversations about climate change.
Suitable for ages 8+.
A fun, interactive way to uncover your innate skills that make you employable in the Creative Industries.
Aimed at ages 14-25.
Create a musical story based on our adventures and exploration of the MAXwell community garden.
Suitable for all ages.
Join for a blether and a cuppa!
Write your own poems inspired by different words or drawing prompts, with the option to share with the group at the end of the workshop.
Suitable for ages 18+ (adult themes)
In this comically engaged, frankly bizarre, staging of Persephone and Hades, Persephone is the daughter of the inventors of the world’s first biodegradable theme park, Hades is a train conductor, and his infamous pomegranate seed takes the form of a tube of smarties off the buffet-trolley.
Suitable for ages 18+ (adult themes and strong language)
An exploration of self care through poetry and contemporary dance; through shared memories, thoughts, poems and snapshots into daily life we asked ourselves – what do you do at twenty past eight on a Sunday?
