This summer Art Night will deliver its first full iteration in a city outside London. On the evening of Saturday 24 June from 7pm until late, ten major commissions by internationally significant artists and more emergent artists will be presented in civic and public spaces across Dundee.
The commissions will comprise ambitious live events, installations, sound, performance and film. Iconic and unique spaces across Dundee will be used for this wide range of events, from DCA, V&A Dundee, to historic ships the RRS Discovery and the HMS Unicorn, The Little Theatre, Arthurstone Library, Cooper Gallery, DJCAD, Baxter Park and Pavillion, and the Keiller Centre as well as outdoors in the city’s streets.
Alongside the commissions is Inwith, a series of projects highlighting Dundee’s expansive art and communities programming. Inwith comprises 12 projects with partners including V&A Dundee’s Young People’s Collective, Open/Close Dundee in collaboration with EH9 Espresso, Wooosh Gallery, Dundee Community Gardens Network/Grow Dundee, Dundee Heritage Trust’s Creative Communities Network, Dundee Women’s Aid, Hot Chocolate Trust, The Binnn and Volk Gallery with more to be announced soon!

The free festival will be brought to Dundee in partnership with Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA). Art Night will also be collaborating with V&A Dundee; Creative Dundee; NEoN Digital Arts; Cooper Gallery (DJCAD); The McManus Art Gallery and Museum; GENERATORprojects; Dundee City Council; Dundee Heritage Trust, and Hospitalfield.
Art Night Dundee is supported by Creative Scotland and EventScotland’s National Events Programme. National partners include The Art Fund; The Tetley, Leeds; Creative Kernow; Museum of London and Serpentine.
Art Night is a biannual contemporary art festival presenting ambitious work by artists at pivotal moments in their career. Developing within towns, villages and cities across the country, Art Night takes place in public spaces and civic buildings. The festival is free and everyone is welcome.
