- What could be more joyful than a Joy Parade?! Join GENERATORprojects on Sat 6 May for a celebration of silliness and fun – all are welcome at this family-friendly event.
- The Angus Festival of Makers is back with a fantastic array of workshops, exhibitions and open studios celebrating creativity throughout the county from Sat 13–Sun 21 May.
- Hot Chocolate Trust are having an opening night and you’re invited! Drop in to their home at The Steeple on Wed 31 May from 7pm and see the brand new spaces they’ve created.
- Head to HMS Unicorn for a unique cinema experience with their Saturday Night at the Movies showing of ‘Master and Commander’ on Sat 27 May.
- Join Makers for Maggie’s at their spring market at the Steeple on Sat 27 May! Artists, designers and makers from across Tayside will be showcasing and selling their work to support Maggie’s Dundee.
Workshops
- Colour in the City with Dock Street Studios and help them create a giant mural of Dundee’s landscape and landmarks! Drop-in daily until Wed 31 May.
- Head to Dundee Ceramics Workshop to create your very own carved paint palette with Steph Liddle on Sat 20 May.
- Upcoming workshops at Double Door Studios Design include making a marbled mirror with Hung Up Frames on Thu 4 May and your own unique piece of silver jewellery with Ieva Jankovska on Thu 25 May.
- Make a healing bowl with Dundee Community Craft on Sun 28 May, with more classes coming up in June.
Opportunities
- Join the SMIA Equalities and Industry Development Officer and help shape and support their work on inclusion and diversity in Scotland’s music industry. Applications close Fri 12 May.
- Apply to be an Art Night guide and help bring the festival to life in Dundee! Apply by Sun 7 May.
- Scotland-based makers, curators, researchers and academics are invited to contribute presentations for the Craft Hub International Conference. Submissions close Fri 26 May.
- Entries are now open for the Scottish Landscape Awards with a first prize of £10,000. Open to anyone over the age of 16 living, studying or working in Scotland, applications close Wed 31 May.

- At Nomas* Projects, ‘The Owner of the Fish‘ is a striking exhibition of poetry and self-portraits from Vahid Davar open until Wed 10 May with online artist talk on Sun 7 May.
- Visit Tatha Gallery for ‘Pressed‘ until Sat 20 May; an exhibition celebrating the art of printmaking and including work by Benet Reid created at DCA Print Studio.
- It’s time to celebrate this year’s graduates as the DJCAD Undergraduate Degree Show returns for 2023! Visit the show from Sat 20–Sun 28 May.
- Now on at Federation Gallery: Kirsty Lockhart shares 150 drawings of fellow passengers with ‘Journeys on the 28 bus’, showing until Sat 27 May.
