Co-commissioned by Art Night and Art Fund, Cooper Gallery welcome Turner Prize-nominated artist Helen Phillipson with new moving image work, Dream Land.
Phillipson’s Dream Land incorporates archival BBC wildlife footage, recast as hallucination. Remixing and revoicing remarkable scenes from innovative 1980s nature documentaries Supersense and Life Sense, Dream Land presents earthly life as a dream, accessed via the bizarre and precious lives of the natural world that surrounds us.
The exhibition opens at Cooper Gallery with a preview on Fri 16 June which is free, open to all and unticketed. The exhibition will then run until Sat 1 July including a special event for Art Night on Sat 24 June where the exhibition will be accompanied by Mourning Ritual, an audio event composed by Phillipson.
