- Yalla Riso want your doodles, failed ideas and more for their new open call zine, Good Work Nice Zine. Anything from your sketchbook and back catalogue that has never found a home is welcome in this zine!
- How it Felt are searching for an artist to join them in designing wooden sculptures for the Glow in the Dark Winter Art Trail at Dundee Botanic Gardens. An artist fee of £200 is available and applications are open until Mon 9 October.
- Looking for a chance to perform your poetry? Hotchpotch are back to their regularly scheduled programming with their fantastic monthly open mic night on Wed 11 October.
- Join us at Care in Creative Practice on Fri 13 October, as part of the University of Dundee’s Festival of the Future, to hear from local creative practitioners about how care presents itself in what they produce, the way they work, and why they create.

- Head to Clarks on Lindsay Street for an amazing line-up of live music this month including a Juteopolis Presents special featuring the best of local original music on Thu 5 October!
- Join Neuk Collective online on Sun 15 October for their next ND Artist Meetup – a chilled monthly space for neurodivergent artists to meet and share.
- Project Echo, from CULTIVATE Creative Practitioner Jaz Grady, has been on a mission to empower young people across Perth and Kinross. Celebrate the project and the young artists involved at their showcase exhibition, It’s the End, on Sat 21 October.
- Discovery Film Festival is back at DCA for its twentieth year, showing another incredible selection of the best films for young audiences from around the world. Grab your popcorn and join in from Sat 21 October!
Workshops
- Join an incredible 10-day masterclass with Thingumajig Theatre to build two giant lantern puppets for the Dundee Hooley parade! Apply to take part before Fri 6 October.
- Get ahead of the festive rush and make a unique handmade ornament or gift with Dundee Ceramics Workshops! There’s lots of ways to create with clay at their fantastic upcoming classes.
- Forgan Arts Centre have launched their new Autumn-Winter programme of workshops and classes including stained glass, pottery, upholstery, painting and drawing, suitable for all ages and abilities.
- There’s lots going on at the Maxwell Centre this October! Join them for adult cooking sessions, toddler creative gardening, spooky Halloween fun, and more.

- The Scotland Re:Design Scottish Fashion Festival is back for 2023. They’ll be showcasing the best of Scottish fashion and textiles at the Opening Gala at V&A Dundee – apply before Sun 8 Oct for your chance to join the Fashion Salon.
- Artists, crafters, makers! Applications for the next round of Visual Artist and Craft Maker Awards are now open. Apply for the £500 and £750 bursaries before 5pm, Tue 24 October.
- Dundee Women’s Festival want you to Blaw Yer Ain Trumpet and submit your events for their 2024 festival! They’re looking for events taking place from Sat 2–Sun 17 March 2024 on the theme ‘Weemin Mak it Happen’. Submit before, 5pm Fri 17 November.

- Now at Nomas* Projects, Endosode from photographer and visual artist Ciara Menzies, invites viewers into an intimate visual exploration of the unseen realities of living with endometriosis. Running until Thu 12 October.
- Unleash your inner child at GENERATORprojects new exhibition Wiggle Room, featuring newly commissioned work by Ray Downie and Lorna Kerr. Opening Sat 7 October.
- Explore the incredible work of Dundee-born comics legend Sydeny Jordan at new University of Dundee Tower Foyer Gallery exhibition Art of Sydney Jordan: Dream Pedlar. Opening Sat 7 October.
- Visit Cooper Gallery from Fri 13 October for Sit-in #3 The Otolith Group: …But There are New Suns – the next chapter in their critically acclaimed exhibition and event project The Ignorant Art School.
