3rd August, 2:00pm at Forgan Arts Centre, Newport-on-Tay
Head across the bridge to Forgan Arts Centre for Lughnasadh Festival and a day of art and live acts that represent the breadth of Scottish talent. The festival line-up features headliner Hamish Hawk, Glam-goth rockers Walt Disco, and paragons of Glasgow’s DIY scene Free Love. Dundee’s own rising-star Theo Bleak and funk-pop quintet Jutebox will also take to the stage alongside Aberdeen-based AiiTee.
During the run of the festival there will also be opportunities to engage with Forgan’s arts programme. Join gardener and environmentalist Dr Helena Simmons for a guided tour of the grounds, DJCAD graduate Rosalie Thorley will be leading an exciting drop-in printing workshop, and later in the evening Hanifah Ṣogbanmu will be creating a collective art piece that will be exhibited as part of her DJCAD Masters Show. Throughout the festival Forgan studio holder and sound artist Andy Truscott will take field recordings and other sonic samples for a commissioned piece.
Music is selected by Newport-on-Tay’s own Big Rock Records and complemented with art interventions curated by Hanifah Ṣogbanmu.
There are a variety of ticket types available with the standard tickets at £25 each. Concession tickets are also available, please note children and babies under 3 years old can attend for free but will need a ticket.
