- Shaper/Caper’s sellout show Small Town Boys is back in Dundee from Thu 18–Sun 21 July, bringing the joy, drama and heartbreak of the 80s queer club scene to life.
- Join Hospitalfield for Sites of Memory: Experimental Film Study Day on Sat 20 July to explore artist’s approaches to memory and archives – using film as a medium to disrupt, challenge and reposition archives within their work.
- Join V&A Dundee and Tea Green Events for their annual Summer Design Market, Fri 26–Sun 29 July, featuring an amazing array of independent Scottish designers.
Workshops
- Get to grips with the art of Wheel Throwing with four-hour intensive taster sessions at Dundee Ceramics Workshop! Suitable for complete beginners, there are multiple dates to choose from across July and August.
- Join the Scottish Artists Union and Neuk Collective online on Tue 9 July as they guide you through creating your own Access Rider, an increasingly popular tool for artists to communicate their access needs to organisations.
- Head to the peace and quiet of Verdant Works’ mill for colourful Flower Crown workshops. Tickets are Pay What You Can with workshops taking place every second Tuesday from Tue 9 July.
- Learn how to make your very own natural skincare products with maker Emma Rawson at DCA’s Craft Sunday: Botanical Skincare on Sun 28 July.

- Applications are now open for Scottish Book Trust’s New Writers Awards 2025. Awardees receive £2,500, opportunities to showcase their work to publishers, and tailored development opportunities. Applications close midday, Wed 31 July.
Exhibitions
- Now showing at Sharing Not Hoarding, Forged Codes is a collaborative project between illustrator Jim Spendlove and ecologist Beatrice Dale raising questions on the impact of urban development on nature.
- Artist Nic J. Hutson is celebrating their 30th birthday with Painting with Light an exhibition of their paintings and film photography, showing at Blend@Dock Street from Fri 5 July.
- The talented artists of Art Angel Dundee are taking over the DJCAD reception for a new exhibition! Visit the exhibition from until Fri 12 July and support their invaluable work.
- Indie collective The Living Room Curators, open the doors to an intimate and unique gallery for Flourish, an exhibition celebrating the beauty of nature and the feminine spirit. Running until Mon 30 Sept.

- An exquisite treat for the ears as Dundee artist and musician SHHE returns with new music. Listen to the first single Hólar before the full LP is released on Fri 19 July.
- The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival team have created a brilliant resource for anyone looking to make audience-facing or participatory arts projects about mental health. Performing Anxiety includes a user-friendly good practice guide and is also available as a podcast.
- Help build research on the ways in which Community Wealth Building could positively impact and develop the creative industries in Dundee by completing Community Enterprise and Creative Scotland’s Community Wealth Building and Creative Industries Survey.
