Rosie’s Disobedient Press and Maria Fusco team up to offer four bursaries for working-class writers, based in Scotland.

Artist-led publishing project Rosie’s Disobedient Press and award-winning working-class writer, Maria Fusco, have opened applications for four bursaries to support working-class writers based in Scotland.

Each bursary includes £500 and a 1-hour feedback and development meeting with either Maria Fusco or Rosie’s Disobedient Press. The successful applicants will be chosen by Maria, RDP and writer and Silver Press founder, Sarah Shin.

The bursaries are not intended to contribute to a defined outcome but to support the ongoing practices of working-class writers in a way that is most useful for them, and are open to any writer who identifies as being from a working-class background.

How to apply:
Applications should be sent to woof@rosiesdisobedient.press with the subject ‘WCW Bursaries’ and including one PDF with the following information:

• Up to 300 words written or 4 minute video/voice recording expression of interest including information on yourself, your practice, and what you would like to focus on during the feedback and development meeting.
• An example of your writing or a writing project – no more than one page or 3 minutes of video/recording.
• The area of Scotland you are based in.

Rosie’s Disobedient Press is an artist-led publishing project based in Glasgow which centres writing from marginalised perspectives with a focus on queer, working-class and feminist practices. The press is run by Lisette May Monroe and Adrien Howard and works directly with artists and writers to create unique projects across multiple forms, including online and printed publishing, writing, audio-works, workshops and live events.
