- Join Social Action Inquiry Scotland on Fri 7 June for Stories of Community Action, showcasing powerful films and talks that highlight vital community action from across Scotland.
- Head to Blend on Dock Street on Wed 12 June for the next Hotchpotch monthly open mic night!
- Elfie Picket Theatre are back for the next Blether – a night dedicated to Scots Language performance with music, poetry, spoken word and more on Thu 13 June.
- Shaper/Caper want to hear from young creatives with an idea for a 10-min performance piece to present at Scratch Capers night. Ten bursaries of £250 are available to help share your idea with an audience in a low tech environment.
Events
- Dundee Pride returns to Slessor Gardens on Sat 15 June! Join the celebration and enjoy a day of performances, workshops, events and Pride Market.
- Join Andie Sewing School for their end of year Fashion Show on Sun 23 June and be wowed by the brilliant work of their young designers.
- Dundee’s creative and cultural sector are invited to join a Creative Study trip to Perth on Tue 25 June. Hear more from Perth UNESCO City of Craft and Folk Arts, and visit Perth Creative Exchange, the Average Gallery, and Perth Museum.
- Tickets are on sale now for Lughnasadh Festival, a new music and art event from Forgan Arts Centre and Big Rock Records with a line-up including Dundee’s own Theo Bleak and Jutebox. Book tickets early to avoid disappointment!
Workshops
- Get inspired by the Lesbian Avengers placards in V&A Dundee’s Scottish Design Galleries and make your own affirmation signboards, badges, and patches at Pride, Protest and Design on Sun 9 June.
- Explore your creativity using clay handbuilding and moulding techniques with artist Jill Skulina’s Clay Intro Session on Fri 14 June at her Newport-on-Tay studio.
- Join Leisure and Culture Dundee to share your views and help develop an action plan for Dundee’s Culture Strategy 2024–2034 at an afternoon session or evening session on Thu 20 June.
- Head to Scarlett Erskine’s workshop to learn how to saw, solder and texture metal making your very own silver piece of jewellery at her Make a Silver Ring workshop on Thu 20 June.
Opportunities
- Community-based organisations and groups can apply for Dundee City Council’s Festive Fund before Mon 10 June to support festive winter events or festive installations in the community.
- Two great opportunities to join the Dundee Rep team as a Lighting Technician or their new Production Manager! Applications close on 14 June and 21 June respectively.
- Scotland-based disabled visual artists can now apply for the opportunity to undertake a fully-funded research and development trip to Venice with Shape Arts and Creative Scotland. Applications close Fri 28 June.
- ARTCRY have reopened their rolling funding with support of up to £5,000 available for time-critical and political public art.
Exhibitions
- Eighteen artists from this year’s DJCAD Degree Show take over the grounds of Dundee Botanic Gardens for Branching Out, showcasing their work in this unique setting from Fri 7–Sun 16 June.
- Head to Dundee Central Library before Sat 15 June to catch Generation of Waste, an exhibit originally shown at COP26 exploring the scale of global textile waste throughout the lifecycle of clothing.
- Artist collective Original Copy bring facilitators of art into the spotlight for exhibition Instructions Not Included, showcasing the artwork of 40 arts workers usually found behind the scenes. Running until Sat 22 June.
- They Had Four Years returns to GENERATORprojects until Sun 23 June, platforming the incredible talents of Scotland’s recent Fine Art graduates in a varied and unmissable exhibition.

- Local Art Club want your old art supplies! They’re looking for any unwanted art, craft, or sewing supplies that are still in a good and useable condition for donation to Uppertunity.
