Events
- The Angus Festival of Makers is back with a fantastic array of workshops, exhibitions and open studios celebrating creativity throughout the county from Fri 2–Sat 31 May.
- Head along to Maggie’s Dundee on Sat 10 May for Makers for Maggie’s, featuring a line-up of talented makers from across Tayside showcasing and selling their creations, helping to raise vital funds for Maggie’s Dundee.
- Visit Abertay’s Digital Graduate Show from Thu 15–Sat 17 May to explore over 130 innovative and boundary-pushing projects from their creative final-year students.
- Join the revelry as Jeremy Deller’s major UK-wide project ‘The Triumph of Art’ comes to Dundee! In collaboration with DJCAD students, ‘Meet the Gods‘ invites you to join a day of performance, costume, music and celebration on Sat 24 May.
Workshops
- Join Tayside artist Gillian Adair in the DCA Create Space on Thu 8 May for Relaxed Art Making, giving time for parents and caregivers to respond to the works of new exhibition ‘Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood’.
- Head to Cake or Dice on Wed 14 May for the Dundee Tabletop Playtesting Meetup. Try out work in progress games or bring along and share a physical game you are working on!
- Fight the scourge of perfectionism, get creative and make some mistakes at Blend’s Mistakes will be Made poster workshop on Thu 15 May.
- Using the ancient process of enamelling, learn how to make your own healing bowl with Dundee Community Craft at their Make a Healing Bowl workshops running Sun 18 and 25 May.
Opportunities
- The UNESCO City of Design Dundee team have launched an open call for individuals, businesses and organisations to join their new supporter scheme Design Lives Here which aims to make visible support for design-engaged working across the city. Applications close 9am, Mon 12 May.
- Design HOPES are searching for an experienced Creative Producer to lead the development and delivery of a high-impact research exhibition and public engagement programme. Applications close at midnight, Mon 12 May.
- Stobswell Forum are seeking a Dundee or Tayside-based artist for the exciting opportunity to redevelop three public art boards at the entrance of the historic Weavers Yard site. Complete the submission form before 9am, Mon 19 May.
- Dundee Fringe is returning for 2025! Want to be part of this year’s line-up? Applications are now open for performances of all types. Apply before Fri 8 August.
Exhibitions
- Explore the world of garden design and its influence on the future of a greener, better world with V&A Dundee’s latest exhibition ‘Garden Futures‘. Opening Sat 17 May.
- ‘They Had Four Years‘ returns to Generator Projects from Sun 18–Thu 22 May, platforming the incredible talents of five of Scotland’s recent Fine Art graduates in a varied and unmissable exhibition.
- Photographer High Anxiety presents their debut show ‘Idle Hands‘ – a unique POV look at what it was and is still like to be an addict in Dundee. Running from Sun 18–Sat 24 May.
- It’s time again to celebrate the success and creativity of this year’s graduates as the the DJCAD Degree Show returns for 2025 from Sat 24 May–Sun 1 June!

- It’s Dundee Month of Design and there are four brand new Dundee Design Trails for you to explore! Download or pick-up copies from Central Library, McManus and V&A Dundee, and get ready to explore Design in Dundee’s City Centre, Innovation & Technology, Textile Mill Architecture, and Post-War Architecture.
